PT Ciputra to open Taman Burung estate<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): After launching a housing project set in flower
\ngardens, publicly-listed developer PT Citra Development is now
\nplanning another next-to-nature site with some 810 birds as its
\nfeature, the company's president said yesterday.<\/p>\n
Harun Harjadi said the company would build a huge birdcage on
\na one-hectare plot in the middle of the 20-hectare housing site
\nat Cibubur, East Jakarta, and smaller birdcages would be hung
\nfrom street lamps.<\/p>\n
\"The Taman Burung sector, like the Bukit Bunga sector opened
\nlast year, is based on our concept of living in a natural
\nenvironment where people can enjoy flowers blooming and birds
\nsinging in their backyards,\" Harun said.<\/p>\n
The chosen birds would be singing types like robins, canaries,
\nparakeets and podang, and those with beautiful feathers such as
\ncockatoos, he said.<\/p>\n
\"We will place some birds in cages on every block, but not too
\nclose to houses as some people might be allergic to bird
\nfeathers,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The 564 houses on the site will be sold from Rp 49 million
\n(US$20,417) to Rp 135 million. (04)<\/p>",
