PSMS Medan letting Chilean Eduardo go<\/p>\n
MEDAN: PSMS Medan will not renew the contract of Chilean Luis
\nEduardo for the Indonesian League soccer competition starting on
\nJan. 14, an official said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
PSMS general secretary H. Randiman Tarigan told Antara news
\nservice Eduardo would be let go after three seasons with the club
\nbecause his play was no longer considered of the "desired
\nquality".<\/p>\n
However, the club will extend the contracts of three other
\nSouth American players: Paraguayan Alcidio Fleitas, who was the
\ntop scorer (seven goals) in PSMS' successful defense of the Bang
\nYos Cup in Jakarta earlier this month, and Chileans Alejandro
\nTobar and Mario Alberto.<\/p>\n
"These three long-serving players on the PSMS team are having
\ntheir contracts renewed because they still show quality (play),
\nso it's only fitting for us to keep them," Randiman said.<\/p>\n
PSMS will compete with 13 other teams in the western zone of
\nthe competition, with the winner from its group to meet the
\nwinner of the 14-strong eastern section. -- JP<\/p>",
