The West Java branch of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has vehemently condemned the recent assault on Ronald Aristone Sinaga, known as BroRon, who serves as the party's deputy general chairman, describing it as unacceptable thuggery in a nation of law. The incident occurred while BroRon was supporting workers from PT Sinergi Karya Sejahtera in a wage-related audience in central Jakarta, resulting in injuries and the arrest of two suspects. PSI West Java urges a thorough, transparent police investigation to uphold justice, protect democratic freedoms, and prevent such violence from undermining public trust in legal processes.

The West Java Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian
Solidarity Party (PSI) has strongly condemned the assault that befell
Deputy General Chairman of the PSI Central Board, Ronald Aristone
Sinaga, or BroRon as he is affectionately known, in the Menteng area of
Central Jakarta recently.

Deputy Chairman of the PSI West Java Regional Leadership Council,
Iwan Koswara, views the act of violence as a form of thuggery that
cannot be tolerated in a constitutional state. He has called on the
police to thoroughly investigate all parties involved in the
incident.

“PSI West Java strongly condemns the assault on BroRon. Violence is
not a solution to resolving issues. The state must not yield to acts of
intimidation and thuggery,” said Iwan Koswara on Thursday
(7/5/2026).

According to him, the incident involving BroRon is not merely an
attack on an individual but also a threat to citizens’ freedom in
fighting for rights and justice.

He emphasised that all PSI cadres in West Java provide full support
for the ongoing legal process. The assault case against BroRon has drawn
public attention after a video of the incident went viral on social
media.

Based on police statements, the incident occurred while BroRon was
accompanying several employees of PT Sinergi Karya Sejahtera who
intended to hold an audience regarding wages. The situation then heated
up, culminating in physical violence.

As a result of the incident, BroRon sustained a laceration to his
right eye and bruising to the back of his head. The police have also
secured two suspected perpetrators for further examination.

The PSI Central Board previously called on law enforcement
authorities to act decisively against the act.

Iwan added that PSI West Java hopes the case handling is conducted
professionally, transparently, and justly to avoid causing unrest in
society.

“We believe the police are capable of resolving this case
objectively. Such violent practices must not be considered normal. All
citizens have the right to legal protection,” he said.

He also called on all elements of society to maintain a healthy
democratic space by prioritising dialogue and peaceful resolution of
problems, rather than through violence or intimidation.

“Differences of opinion or labour issues must be resolved through
legal channels and good communication. There must be no justification
for vigilante actions,” he concluded.
",
