        "content": "<p>Tangerang District, Banten \u2014 The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of\nthe Solidaritas Indonesia Party (PSI) has stated that a terrorist attack\ninvolving an acid attack against Andrie Yunus, Vice-Coordinator of\nKontraS, by unknown assailants is utterly indefensible.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy General Chairman of PSI\u2019s DPP, Ratu Isyana Bagoes Oka, said in\nan interview in Tangerang District, Banten, on Saturday that any action\nthreatening the safety and security of others violates applicable laws\nin this country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll see what happens, but clearly any terrorist act cannot be\njustified,\u201d said Isyana.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that her party, represented by General Chairman Kaesang\nPangarep, has taken a position and supported a thorough\ninvestigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeneral Chairman Kaesang Pangarep has already made a statement and\nissued a press release, and clearly the police will investigate who is\nbehind this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In this matter, PSI urges that the case be quickly resolved and those\nresponsible for committing or coordinating the attack be punished in\naccordance with applicable law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd hopefully it can be resolved and investigated thoroughly,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Andrie was attacked by unknown assailants who splashed\nacid on him, causing injuries to his hands and feet as well as visual\ndisturbances.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred shortly after Andrie finished recording a\npodcast at the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute Foundation (YLBHI) office\ndiscussing militarism and judicial review of the Armed Forces Law.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, on Thursday evening (12 March) at approximately\n23:37 Western Indonesia Time, the victim was riding a motorcycle on\nSalemba I Street, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Two assailants on a motorcycle approached the victim and splashed\nacid on him before fleeing.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the attack, the victim suffered burns covering\napproximately 24 percent of his body and was immediately taken to\nhospital for emergency medical treatment, particularly to his eyes which\nwere affected by the liquid.<\/p>",
