        "content": "<p>The Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force\n(Satgas PRR) for post-disaster Sumatra is accelerating the construction\nof temporary housing units (huntara) to reduce the number of displaced\npersons still living in tents following floods and landslides in Aceh,\nNorth Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar) provinces.<\/p>\n<p>According to the daily report from Satgas PRR as of 12 March 2026,\n15,346 of 18,781 planned temporary housing units have been completed\nacross the three affected provinces, representing 81 percent progress\noverall.<\/p>\n<p>This figure represents an increase of approximately three percent\ncompared to the achievement two days prior, when 14,725 units had been\ncompleted.<\/p>\n<p>In Aceh, 13,547 temporary housing units have been completed out of a\ntotal of 16,931 planned units, equivalent to 80 percent progress.\nMeanwhile, temporary housing construction in North Sumatra has reached\n95 percent completion, with 969 of 1,020 units finished.<\/p>\n<p>Satgas PRR also reported progress on permanent housing (huntap)\nconstruction. As of 12 March 2026, 1,463 permanent housing units are\nunder construction out of a total of 36,669 planned units. To date, 56\npermanent housing units have been completed, an increase of 50 units\ncompared to two days earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in temporary and permanent housing construction rates\nreflects the government\u2019s strategy to reduce the number of displaced\npersons in tents, which as of 11 March numbered 1,384 households or\n4,522 individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency cash assistance (DTH) of 600,000 rupiah per month is being\ndistributed for a three-month period, providing each household with a\ntotal of 1.8 million rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>To date, all recipient accounts have received cash transfers with a\n100 percent disbursement rate among 12,767 recipients across the three\nprovinces: 6,846 in Aceh, 4,162 in North Sumatra, and 1,759 in West\nSumatra.<\/p>\n<p>Suharyanto, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB)\nand Deputy Head of Satgas PRR, stated that the government will continue\naccelerating temporary housing construction to ensure all disaster\nsurvivors are in adequate housing by Eid al-Fitr 2026\/1447 Hijriah.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, he explained that families newly occupying\ntemporary housing units will receive assistance with basic food items\nand non-food necessities to cover their needs for 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>This assistance is provided to help meet residents\u2019 basic needs\nbefore they receive livelihood support from the central government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFamilies occupying temporary housing units will be provided\nassistance by BNPB in the form of equipment and food for 10 days from\nwhen they move in,\u201d Suharyanto said in a press statement received by\nKompas.com on Thursday.<\/p>",
