        "content": "<p>The Chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation\nand Reconstruction (Kasatgas PRR) following the Sumatra disaster,\nMuhammad Tito Karnavian, has stated that the post-disaster recovery\nprocess in Aceh Province continues to show positive developments. He\nmade this statement during a Coordination Meeting and Evaluation of\nAchievements in Handling and Accelerating Post-Hydrometeorological\nDisaster Recovery in Aceh Province at the Office of the Governor of\nAceh. Tito explained that, based on the government\u2019s evaluation,\nconditions in various affected areas are now much better than when the\ndisaster struck. Various essential services that had been disrupted have\nnow resumed, allowing community activities to gradually recover.\n\u2018Earlier we evaluated what had been achieved during the emergency\nresponse and transition periods. The bottom line is we have returned to\nnormality. But not permanently, it is a functional normal,\u2019 said Tito in\na written statement on Tuesday. According to Tito, this recovery is\nvisible through various indicators, ranging from the governance, health,\neducation, and infrastructure sectors to the economy and basic community\nservices. In the governance sector, most government facilities have\nreturned to function, enabling public services to run as they should.\nMeanwhile, health facilities in affected areas have also resumed\noperations to serve community needs. In the education sector, teaching\nand learning activities at the majority of affected schools have\nrecommenced. However, Tito acknowledged that several schools still\nrequire further handling due to building damage or site conditions that\nremain disaster-prone. The government continues to accelerate the\nrehabilitation of educational facilities so that the learning process\ncan run optimally. \u2018But once again, there are some that are not yet\nideal, schools for example. There are some still in tents, some are\nstill makeshift, emergency premises,\u2019 said Tito. \u2018Some are using other\nschools, although most have returned to their original schools,\u2019 he\ncontinued. Recovery progress is also visible in the infrastructure\nsector. Most road access and bridges have been made usable again, so\nthat the mobility of people and the distribution of goods can proceed\nnormally. Nevertheless, the government is still working on repairs to a\nnumber of road segments and bridges that suffered severe damage from the\ndisaster. In the economic sector, trading activities in markets, stalls,\nshops, and other community businesses are also showing a good recovery\ntrend. Various affected markets have resumed operations, allowing the\nwheels of the community\u2019s economy to move again. In addition, basic\nservices such as fuel supply, electricity, and telecommunications have\nalso returned to function. Tito assessed these achievements as important\nindicators that life in affected communities is increasingly recovering\nand returning to normal. \u2018This means the movement of people and goods is\ngoing well, electricity is okay, fuel stations are operational, the\ninternet is also working. Then logistics are not in short supply,\u2019 Tito\nexplained. Despite this, Tito stressed that the government will not stop\nat the achievements made so far. Various follow-up tasks, especially\nthose related to infrastructure rehabilitation, the handling of rivers\nand flood-prone areas, and the construction of housing for affected\ncommunities, will continue to be accelerated. This step is being carried\nout through synergy between the central government, local governments,\nand all relevant stakeholders. \u2018Regardless of the fact that we have been\nable to restore normal functions to community life, there are still many\nissues that remain unresolved.
