        "content": "<p>Nabire (ANTARA) - The Central Papua Provincial Government is\npreparing trauma healing services for the child who became a victim of\nthe shooting in Puncak Regency as part of the handling following the\nhumanitarian tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Regional Secretary of Central Papua, Silwanus Sumule, in\nNabire on Tuesday, said the services would be provided after the child\nvictim, currently being treated at Nabire Hospital, recovers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the child is discharged from the hospital, a special team from\nthe Women\u2019s Empowerment and Child Protection Agency will step in to\nprovide trauma healing services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope this child can soon leave the ICU and continue with\nfollow-up treatment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the child victim, the provincial government is also\nfocusing on handling a 27-year-old pregnant woman, approximately six to\nseven months along, who is at Jayapura City Hospital. The victim\nsustained injuries to her chin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis patient is a special concern because she is pregnant, so in\naddition to treating the wound, we are also preparing for her delivery\nprocess in Jayapura,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that based on data collected by the local government, there\nwere five victims in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The other three victims are receiving treatment at Mulia Hospital in\nPuncak Jaya Regency, as it is closer and has better healthcare\nfacilities compared to Puncak Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Central Papua Provincial emergency response team\nwould be dispatched to Puncak and Puncak Jaya Regencies on Thursday\n(23\/4) to ensure optimal handling of the victims and distribution of\naid.<\/p>\n<p>The team will bring basic community needs, such as food supplies and\nmedicines, while also conducting direct data collection from residents\nin the shooting location, namely Kembru Village, Sinak District,\nPuncak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team will work during the emergency response period of about 14\ndays to address short-term, medium-term, and long-term needs,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, short-term handling focuses on treating the five\nvictims, while follow-up steps will be formulated based on field\ndata.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Central Papua Provincial Government formed a\ncross-agency task force involving the Regional Development Planning\nAgency, Regional Finance, Health Agency, Social Agency, Fire Agency, and\nWomen\u2019s Empowerment and Child Protection Agency to address the impacts\nof the tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the local government is committed to ensuring all\nvictims receive proper handling.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, a shooting incident occurred in Puncak Regency on 14\nApril 2026, which resulted in several civilians becoming victims,\nranging from injuries to deaths.<\/p>",
