        "content": "<p>Public Prosecutors (JPU) are considering the presence of the victim,\nYTR (29), to provide testimony during the trial of Taufik Hidayat (30)\nat the Bale Bandung District Court, Bandung Regency.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the General Crimes Section of the Bandung Regency\nDistrict Attorney\u2019s Office, Nizar Febriansyah, stated in Bandung on\nWednesday that the authorities are still reviewing the victim\u2019s\ncondition before determining the mechanism for providing testimony in\ncourt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegarding the victim, we are reviewing it. We will discuss it later\nbecause we must assess the situation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the second stage, the individual was still experiencing\ntrauma and undergoing medical treatment. Therefore, we must continue to\ncoordinate with the hospital to see if they can provide testimony,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>According to Nizar, the prosecutors are considering the victim\u2019s\nrights when determining the examination mechanism to ensure that\nproviding testimony does not interfere with the victim\u2019s recovery\nprocess.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertainly, with methods that are possible. They could attend in\nperson or via Zoom. The important thing is that the victim\u2019s rights are\nprotected,\u201d said Nizar.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the victim\u2019s presence will still be considered to\nassist the panel of judges in obtaining direct testimony regarding the\ncharges brought against the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Nizar stated that the testimony is expected to be provided in a\nmanner that maintains protection for the victim throughout the\nexamination process in court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is so the victim can explain everything clearly and openly,\nwhile their rights are still being upheld. That is all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The case has now entered the trial stage after the prosecutors read\nthe indictment against Taufik Hidayat regarding allegations of sexual\nviolence, assault, and unlawful detention against YTR.<\/p>",
