        "content": "<p>The Public Prosecutor has charged Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dr\nTifa, with committing criminal defamation and slander regarding her\nstatements about the authenticity of the diploma belonging to\nIndonesia\u2019s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The prosecutor assessed\nthat Jokowi suffered immaterial damage to his personal reputation due to\nDr Tifa\u2019s actions. \u201cWitness Joko Widodo felt he was insulted as deeply\nas possible and degraded as low as possible, and there were even parties\nwho joined in accusing the witness,\u201d the prosecutor stated while reading\nthe indictment at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday, 2 July\n2026. The prosecutor explained that Jokowi became aware of the alleged\ndefamation and slander from social media posts claiming his\nundergraduate diploma from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) was fake. Upon\ncollection, five posts were identified as attacking Jokowi\u2019s dignity and\nhonour. Meanwhile, the prosecutor revealed possessing a number of pieces\nof evidence confirming the authenticity of the 7th president\u2019s diploma.\nBased on the official report of a criminalistic laboratory examination\nconducted by the police, it was concluded that Jokowi\u2019s diploma was\nidentical to 14 comparison documents. Furthermore, according to the UGM\nstudy programme guidebook, a forestry undergraduate diploma numbered\n1120, dated 5 November 1985, was issued in the name of Joko Widodo. \u201cThe\ndefendant could not prove her accusations, and the accusations\ncontradicted what the defendant knew,\u201d the prosecutor stated. On these\ngrounds, Dr Tifa was charged primarily with violating Article 434\nparagraph (1) in conjunction with Article 441 paragraph (1) in\nconjunction with Article 126 paragraph 1. The subsidiary charges include\nArticle 434 paragraph 1, subsidiary Article 310 paragraph 1 of the\nCriminal Code, and subsidiary Article 35 in conjunction with Article 51\nparagraph 1 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law.<\/p>",
