Prosecutor faces intimidation<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The head of South Jakarta prosecutor's office
\nAntasari Azhar is reported to have received threatening phone
\ncalls last weekend and was followed by people driving a jeep.<\/p>\n
The Attorney General's Office spokesman Muljohardjo said on
\nMonday that the first call was received by a member of Antasari's
\nstaff on Friday, saying, \"The judge has been killed, now that
\nleaves the attorney and the prosecutor.\"<\/p>\n
\"The callers also phoned Antasari's house in Tangerang with a
\nsimilar message,\" Muljohardjo told reporters, as quoted by
\nAntara.<\/p>\n
Muljohardjo assumed that the callers referred to judge
\nSyafiuddin Kartasasmita who was shot dead last Thursday morning
\nwhile driving to work.<\/p>\n
Syafiuddin headed the panel of judges last year that sentenced
\nto 18 months jail former president Soeharto's son Hutomo \"Tommy\"
\nMandala Putra, who is still at large.<\/p>\n
Antasari, meanwhile, should have executed the Supreme Court's
\nruling to put Tommy to jail.<\/p>\n
Muljohardjo added that the callers continued to phone
\nAntasari's house during the weekend, with messages like, \"I know
\nthe prosecutor's car and where he is now. Prepare the yellow
\nflags because we will pick up the victim soon.\"<\/p>\n
Antasari, he said, reported the incident to Taman Puring
\nPolice subprecinct in South Jakarta and also Serpong Police
\nsubprecinct in Tangerang. He has now been provided with police
