        "content": "<p>Prosecutor accused of discrimination<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Lawyers of a man detained for defaming the<br>\nPresident said yesterday their client received discriminatory<br>\ntreatment by the South Jakarta Prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>Andi Syahputra's requests for city arrest have been rejected.<br>\nHe is at the Cipinang prison awaiting trial. Meanwhile another<br>\ndetainee charged with a similar offense was granted this status,<br>\nlawyers of the Jakarta Legal Aid office said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The end of our client's detention period fell on Jan. 14; our<br>\nrequests for city arrest have not been responded to,\" lawyer<br>\nIrianto Subiakto said.<\/p>\n<p>Andi was arrested for involvement in publishing an unlicensed<br>\nmagazine, Suara Independen, with an owner of a printing house,<br>\nJazrul Zen. They were both detained at the South Jakarta police<br>\nprecinct for two months.<\/p>\n<p>However Jazrul was granted city arrest by the Prosecutor on<br>\nDec. 26 when the case was transferred from the police, Irianto<br>\nsaid.
