        "content": "<p>Prosecution return dossier of McCulloch, Sadler to police<\/p>\n<p>Nani Farida, The Jakarta Post, Banda Aceh<\/p>\n<p>The Aceh Prosecutor's Office returned on Wednesday the dossier of<br>\nBritish Lesley McCulloch, 42, and American Joy Lee Sadler, 57, to<br>\nlocal police office for completion.<\/p>\n<p>\"It must be improved,\" said Zainal Said, a state prosecutor<br>\nwith the Aceh Prosecutor's Office here.<\/p>\n<p>Zainal said the dossier was incomplete, but did not explain<br>\nwhat was lacking.<\/p>\n<p>British researcher McCulloch and American volunteer Sadler<br>\nwere arrested in South Aceh on Sept. 11 for violation of their<br>\ntourist visa.<\/p>\n<p>During the investigation, police said they had found materials<br>\nrelated to the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), a secessionist movement<br>\nthat has been fighting for independence since 1976, and planned<br>\nto press espionage charges against the two. The espionage charge<br>\nwas later dropped due to lack of evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Zainal expressed the hope that the police would soon fulfill<br>\nthe requirement.<\/p>\n<p>The trial of the two foreigners was supposed to be held at the<br>\nMeulaboh District Court, but the venue may be moved to Banda Aceh<br>\nat the request of their lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>According to Zainal, the request to move the venue of the<br>\ntrial is now with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights for<br>\nassessment.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, local police spokesman Comr. Taufik S. pledged<br>\nthat his office would complete the dossier as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\"Possibly this week. We will not repeat questioning,\" Taufik<br>\ntold The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n<p>Rufriadi, one of the lawyers, meanwhile refused to comment on<br>\nthe return of the dossier to the police. \"Let us just wait for<br>\nfurther developments,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>McCulloch and Sadler could face up to five years in jail or a<br>\nfine of Rp 25 million (US$2,800) if convicted of violating<br>\nimmigration rules.<\/p>\n<p>Aceh Police chief Insp. Gen. Yusuf Manggabarani had said<br>\nearlier that his office had no plan to release the suspects in<br>\nthe near future because during the investigation the two admitted<br>\nto being involved in activities incompatible with their tourist<br>\nvisas.<\/p>\n<p>Their detention was extended for 40 days on Oct. 2.<\/p>",
