Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Court held a hearing for the\nreading of the prosecution\u2019s demands regarding the alleged extortion\ncase in the management of K3 certificates against Deputy Minister of\nManpower for the 2024\u20132025 period, Immanuel \u201cNoel\u201d Ebenezer Gerungan, on\nMonday (18\/5).<\/p>\n
Presiding Judge Nur Sari Baktiana stated that the examination hearing\nfor the case had concluded, allowing the public prosecutor the\nopportunity to present the demands.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe defendant is well and healthy in detention,\u201d the Presiding Judge\nsaid when closing the defendant\u2019s examination hearing at the Corruption\nCourt (Tipikor) of the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday.<\/p>\n
After the hearing, Noel admitted he was prepared to face the death\npenalty if proven to have extorted the Occupational Safety and Health\nServices Company (PJK3), in line with his commitment from the start of\nthe trial.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut if not, consider this a trial for me. I ask for the fairest\npunishment because I cannot avoid this punishment either,\u201d Noel\nstated.<\/p>\n
In the alleged extortion case in the management of K3 certificates\nwithin the Ministry of Manpower and gratuities during the 2024\u20132025\nperiod, Noel is charged with extorting applicants for Occupational\nSafety and Health (K3) certification or licences worth Rp6.52 billion\nand receiving gratuities.<\/p>\n
The extortion is alleged to have been carried out together with 10\nother defendants, namely Temurila, Miki Mahfud, Fahrurozi, Hery Sutanto,\nSubhan, Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, Irvian Bobby Mahendro Putro,\nSekarsari Kartika Putri, Anitasari Kusumawati, and Supriadi.<\/p>\n
It is stated that the K3 certification applicants extorted by the\ndefendants include Fanny Fania Octapiani, Fransisca Xaveriana, Grhadini\nLukitasari Tasya, Intan Fitria Permatasari, Muhammad Deny, Nicken Ayu\nWulandari, Nur Aisyah Astuti, Octavia Voni Andari, Shalsabila Salu, and\nSri Enggarwati.<\/p>\n
In detail, the extortion is alleged to have been carried out to\nbenefit the defendants being tried together, consisting of Noel\nbenefiting Rp70 million; Fahrurozi Rp270.95 million; Hery, Gerry, and\nSekarsari each Rp652.24 million; Subhan and Anitasari each Rp326.12\nmillion; Bobby Rp978.35 million; and Supriadi Rp294.06 million.<\/p>\n
Additionally, it benefited Haiyani Rumondang by Rp381.28 million;\nSunardi Manampiar Sinaga Rp288.17 million; Chairul Fadhly Harahap\nRp37.94 million; Ida Rochmawati Rp652.24 million; and Fitriana Bani\nGunaharti and Nila Pratiwi Ichsan each Rp326.12 million.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the gratuities allegedly received by Noel consist of money\nworth Rp3.36 billion and one blue navy Ducati Scrambler motorcycle, from\ncivil servants (ASN) of the Ministry of Manpower and other private\nparties, during his tenure as deputy minister.<\/p>\n
For his actions, the former deputy minister faces penalties as\nstipulated in Article 12 letter e or Article 12 letter b and Article 12\nB in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No.\u00a031 of 1999 on the\nEradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented\nby Law No.\u00a020 of 2001 jo. Article 20 letter c jo.
