        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has put forward a proposal\nfor fines on citizens who lose their electronic resident identity cards\n(e-KTP). Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, a member of Commission II of the\nHouse of Representatives from the Golkar Party faction, has questioned\nthis proposal.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal emerged during discussions on the planned revision of\nLaw No.\u00a024 of 2013 on Population Administration (Adminduk), being\ndeliberated jointly with Commission II of the House of Representatives\nat the House building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (20\/4\/2026). Deputy\nMinister of Home Affairs Bima Arya explained that many citizens lack\nresponsibility in maintaining their population documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many citizens who are not very responsible about using or\nmaintaining their ID cards and other population identities, so they\neasily get lost and so on. If they want to make a new one, it\u2019s free,\u201d\nsaid Bima Arya.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the plan, Doli said that the law should be made as\nperfect as possible to improve the entire population administration\nsystem in our country.<\/p>\n<p>The system that will eventually need to be integrated with all\nsystems related to data and information. For example, continued Doli, at\npresent we are also working on the Indonesian Single Data Law. Both of\nthese laws and other related laws must be synchronised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, the law must give birth to a system that can also unite\nall personal data into just one identity number. We must already be able\nto implement a single identity number system for every Indonesian\ncitizen,\u201d said Doli.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, personal data in the future could be in digital\nform only. Thus, there will be no more stories of loss or fines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, in the future, our identities no longer need to be in physical\nform, they must be digital\/electronic based (paperless). If everything\nis digital, there will be no more stories of loss, and automatically\nthere will be no more fines,\u201d said Doli.<\/p>",
