The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has carried out a sting\noperation (OTT) against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro and dozens of\nothers. Regent Anom was arrested on suspicion of playing in projects and\nbuying and selling official positions.<\/p>\n
According to detikcom records on Thursday (30\/7\/2026), Regent Anom\nwas arrested on Wednesday (29\/7). The arrest was directly confirmed by\nDeputy Chair of the KPK, Fitroh Rohcahyanto.<\/p>\n

A total of 21 people were detained by the KPK. The KPK revealed that\na total of 21 people were secured in the operation, including Regent\nAnom. Of that number, five people were detained in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the course of the sting operation, the team secured a total of 21\npeople. Five people were detained in Jakarta,\u201d said KPK spokesperson\nBudi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
He said the other 16 people were detained by the KPK in Pemalang and\nPurworejo, and that 12 people would be examined further at the KPK\nbuilding.<\/p>\n
\u201cFifteen people were detained in Pemalang, and one person was\ndetained in Purworejo. Of the 21 people, 12 will undergo further\nexamination at the Merah Putih KPK building,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The KPK seized Rp 2 billion. From the operation, the KPK secured a\ntotal of Rp 2 billion in cash, along with other items of evidence.<\/p>\n

The KPK then revealed the case ensnaring Regent Anom. The sting\noperation relates to payments received by Regent Anom in connection with\nprojects.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe covert investigation carried out by the KPK team is allegedly\nrelated to payments received by the regent in connection with projects,\u201d\nsaid Budi.<\/p>\n
The KPK has not yet detailed the alleged project corruption committed\nby Anom. Investigators will look further into these findings during a\ncase review with the KPK leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether the legal construction will be bribery or extortion related\nto projects in Pemalang Regency will certainly be presented and\ndiscussed in the exposure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Budi said the sting operation against Regent Anom also relates to\nalleged corruption involving the sale of official positions.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition, there are also allegations of payments received by the\nregent relating to the buying and selling of positions within the\nPemalang Regency administration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
After the operation, the KPK took steps at several locations targeted\nfor searches, sealing them off. Among the locations sealed by the KPK\nwas the office of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning\nAgency (DPUPR) of Pemalang. A KPK seal sticker was affixed to the\noffice.<\/p>\n
The KPK also sealed two houses in the Mutiara Residence housing\nestate in Pemalang on Tuesday night (28\/7). The sealed houses are\nlocated in Block B and Block C.<\/p>\n
