In Denpasar, two waste processing machines at the Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) Tahura I are operating for 20 hours daily to handle 200 tonnes of rubbish, with plans to expand capacity to 300 tonnes there and add 200 tonnes at TPST Tahura II. Officials from the Denpasar City Council and Environmental Agency emphasise the urgency of optimising current operations and adjusting vendor targets to meet demands, while preparing 50 workers in three shifts to support the process. This initiative highlights the city's commitment to improving waste management infrastructure amid growing urban waste challenges.

Two waste processing machines at the Integrated Waste Processing Site
(TPST) Tahura I Ngurah Rai, Suwung, Denpasar, must work hard for 20
hours each day to process a total of 200 tonnes of waste. “Because to
complete 200 tonnes, it requires 20 hours of operation,” explained I
Wayan Suadi Putra, Chairman of Commission III of the Denpasar City
Council, during an inspection of the TPST on Monday (13/4/2026). He
stated that the waste management machines in the Tahura I area will be
increased in the future and could process up to 300 tonnes of waste.
Meanwhile, at Tahura II, machines will also be added to handle 200
tonnes. “If at TPST Tahura II, it can add another 200, meaning here at
TPST Tahura alone it will already be 500 processed, then we will discuss
and see,” added Suadi. Meanwhile, I Wayan Tagel Sidarta, Secretary of
the Denpasar City Environmental Agency, said that the readiness of the
waste processing process must be accelerated immediately. He mentioned
that there must be adjustments to targets from the government to the
providers. “As soon as possible, that’s why the leadership has asked the
vendor to adjust the targets,” he explained. According to Tagel, the two
machines must truly be able to process 200 tonnes of waste. If it runs
optimally, development will continue with the addition of machines at
both Tahura I and Tahura II. “If it’s possible, then we can create a new
line. For now, we are focusing here first on 200 tonnes,” he added.
Regarding waste processing workers, he assured that there are plans for
180 workers, and subsequently they will work in three shifts from 06:00
WITA to 23:00 WITA. “The workforce is already available, around 50
people we have prepared. We have divided them into three shifts:
morning, afternoon, and night,” he concluded.
",
