        "content": "<p>Probe urged into assault<\/p>\n<p>MEDAN, North Sumatra: Deputy chief editor of local daily<br>\nBerita Sore Teruna Jasa Said urged the police on Sunday to<br>\ninvestigate an alleged assault on one of his journalists by a<br>\nsecurity guard and students of Nomensen University.<\/p>\n<p>\"Police should arrest the students and security guards on<br>\ncharges of battery,\" Teruna said as quoted by Antara.<\/p>\n<p>The daily journalist, A. Nixon, was beaten while taking<br>\npictures of a rally on the campus of the private university on<br>\nSaturday. He said he showed his press card, but his assailants<br>\nignored it. His camera was seized during the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Nixon was admitted to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Teruna said the university rector should be held responsible<br>\nfor the assault, adding that he would report to the university's<br>\nsuperintendent in Germany about the case.<\/p>\n<p>The daily also filed complaints with the government-sanctioned<br>\nIndonesian Journalists Association (PWI) and the Association of<br>\nIndependent Journalists (AJI).<\/p>",
