        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The government is once again focusing on flexible\nworking policies amid efforts to balance national productivity and\nenergy efficiency. The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has officially\nissued an appeal to private companies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN),\nand regional public enterprises (BUMD) to adopt a work-from-home (WFH)\nsystem for one day per week.<\/p>\n<p>This policy is outlined in the latest circular, which also serves as\na guideline for businesses in adapting to modern work patterns.<\/p>\n<p>Manpower Minister Yassierli stated that this appeal follows\ndirectives from President Prabowo Subianto, aimed at strengthening\nenergy resilience while promoting efficiency in the work environment. In\nits implementation, the policy still provides flexibility for companies\nto adjust to their respective operational conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d Leaders of private companies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and\nregional public enterprises (BUMD) are urged to implement work-from-home\nfor workers or labourers for one working day per week,\u201d said the\nMinister during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, 1 April\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Although it is an appeal, the government emphasises that WFH\nimplementation must not interfere with workers\u2019 rights. Wages, salaries,\nand other entitlements must still be paid in accordance with applicable\nregulations. Additionally, this policy does not reduce workers\u2019 annual\nleave rights.<\/p>\n<p>Companies are also requested to ensure that performance,\nproductivity, and service quality remain maintained even if some\nactivities are conducted from home. For the technical implementation,\nthe government provides flexibility to each company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd finally, the technical implementation of WFH is regulated by\neach company,\u201d said the Minister.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the circular, the government has stipulated that not all\nsectors can apply the WFH scheme. Several sectors must still carry out\nactivities directly due to the nature of work that requires physical\npresence.
