        "content": "<p>Investment flows into hyperscale data centres in Indonesia are\nintensifying amid surging demand for digital infrastructure and the\naggressive expansion of global technology companies in Southeast Asia.\nPrinceton Digital Group (PDG) has recently raised funding of around\nUS$856 million to expand its hyperscale data centre capacity in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The funding will support the development of the JC3 data centre\ncampus with a capacity of 120 megawatts (MW), while reinforcing\nIndonesia\u2019s position as one of the strategic markets in the data centre\nindustry in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The funding consists of a syndicated facility of US$456 million,\nequivalent to Rp7.79 trillion (exchange rate of Rp17,100 per US dollar),\nfully guaranteed by a consortium of five international banks, namely\nDBS, HSBC, Maybank, SMBC, and Standard Chartered. In addition, there is\nan additional financing facility of around US$400 million that is still\nin process.<\/p>\n<p>The financing scheme is structured based on PDG\u2019s Green Finance\nFramework and is said to be one of the largest green loans in Asia for\nthe data centre sector.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman, CEO, and Cofounder of PDG, Rangu Salgame, stated that the\nsuccess of this funding reflects the high confidence of global financial\ninstitutions in the prospects of the data centre industry in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia is a key market in our portfolio, where demand for\nhigh-quality data centre capacity continues to increase rapidly,\u201d he\nsaid in a statement on Thursday (7\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the expansion of global hyperscaler companies in\nIndonesia is driving the need for data centre operators capable of\ndelivering large-scale capacity with international standards and high\nconstruction speed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs hyperscaler companies expand domestically, they require partners\ncapable of delivering large-scale solutions with speed, certainty, and\nglobal standards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This strengthening of investment demonstrates that Indonesia is\nincreasingly viewed as one of the main destinations for foreign direct\ninvestment (FDI) in the digital economy sector, particularly cloud\ninfrastructure and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, PDG has a data centre portfolio of 400 MW in Indonesia.\nThe company is also expanding its operational footprint through the\ndevelopment of the JC3 project, the launch of JC4, investments in\nrenewable energy, and strengthening digital connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>Regionally, PDG\u2019s total portfolio has exceeded 1.8 gigawatts (GW)\nspread across seven countries in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The influx of jumbo financing from global banking into data centre\nprojects in Indonesia shows the increasing confidence of international\ninvestors in the prospects of domestic digital economic growth,\nespecially amid the acceleration of cloud, AI, and data-based digital\nservice adoption.<\/p>",
