The total budget allocated for purchasing the 1,098 cows\nwas approximately Rp 100 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The Presidential Palace, Gerindra Party, and the Indonesian Ulema\nCouncil (MUI) have commented on President Prabowo\u2019s use of state funds\nfor the sacrificial cows. Juri stressed that presidential assistance\n(Banpres) has been ongoing for years. Juri stated that the sacrificial\ncows are government aid to the public, enabling everyone to celebrate\nIdul Adha and enjoy sacrificial meat. \u201cThe purpose of the President\u2019s\nsacrificial cows is government aid to the public, ensuring those in need\ncan celebrate Idul Adha by slaughtering sacrificial animals together,\u201d\nJuri said in a statement on Wednesday (27 May 2026). He also emphasised\nthat the sacrificial cow aid was not for Prabowo\u2019s personal benefit but\nfully distributed to communities across regions.
