The last state address of President Megawati Soekarnoputri on
\nAug. 16 before the upcoming runoff election has special
\nsignificance, particularly because it explained to the people as
\nwell as future leaders, what the present Cabinet had done.<\/p>\n
Changes in national leadership in the country have never been
\nsmooth. Consequently, everything has had to start all over again.
\nIn fact, the development of a nation should be sustainable to
\nensure uninterrupted advancement.<\/p>\n
After 59 years of independence, we should now avoid such
\nunnecessary repetition and start something new to make further
\nadvancement, instead of beginning from zero again and again.<\/p>\n
The present presidential election is the right moment for
\nthis. The incumbent president has laid down the basis of
\nunderstanding proper statehood. She expects the next president to
\nperform his or her state duties to bring further progress to the
\nnation.<\/p>\n
