        "content": "<p>President, state secretary summoned<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Legal representatives of 13 political parties<br>\ndemanded on Tuesday that the panel of judges at the Central<br>\nJakarta District Court summon President Megawati Soekarnoputri<br>\nand State Secretary Bambang Kesowo in the trial against the<br>\ncountry&apos;s three largest political parties, which have been<br>\naccused of illegally occupying state buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs lawyer Ikhsan Abdullah said their attendance<br>\nwould be of paramount importance for the court as they were the<br>\nprimary defendants in the case.<\/p>\n<p>The demand was echoed by lawyers of Golkar party, the United<br>\nDevelopment Party (PPP) and the Indonesian Democratic Party of<br>\nStruggle (PDI-P).<\/p>\n<p>Presiding judge Heri Swantoro ordered the bailiffs to summon<br>\nthe President and the state secretary\/minister or their legal<br>\nrepresentatives to appear in court in the subsequent trials.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;If they fail to appear, we can proceed without them,&quot; he<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The trial will resume on Feb. 11 when the panel of judges will<br>\noffer an amicable settlement to both parties.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs accused the three parties of violating Law No.<br>\n5\/1960 on land reform and demanded that they return the assets<br>\nwhich were given by the New Order regime -- JP<\/p>\n<p>;JP;URIP;EVI;<br>\nANPAj..r..<br>\nGreat-suicide-busway<br>\nStreet singer jumps to death<br>\nJP\/8\/GREAT<\/p>\n<p>Street singer jumps to death<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: A 28-year-old street singer, identified only as<br>\nFauzi, fell from a pedestrian bridge in front of the Bank<br>\nIndonesia building on Jl.
