President Prabowo Subianto has issued a series of directives to\ngovernment officials for the upcoming 2026 Eid holiday period, aiming to\nensure that Indonesian citizens can return to their home villages safely\nand without disruption.<\/p>\n
Through instructions to various ministers and agency heads, Prabowo\nhas requested the immediate implementation of several measures. These\nrange from offering transport discounts to providing support from state\ninstitutions, to enhancing service quality at various key transit points\nduring the exodus period.<\/p>\n
Addressing the Ministry of Transportation specifically, Prabowo\nrequested that citizens receive discounts across various transport\nmodes. \u201cEnsuring that discount price policies are implemented as\neffectively as possible, including discounts on airline tickets, trains,\nships and toll roads,\u201d Prabowo stated during a cabinet meeting at the\nPresidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Prabowo noted that discounts would help citizens access transport at\nmore affordable rates. Additionally, the discounts would reduce\nhousehold expenditure burdens ahead of the religious holiday.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Prabowo instructed the Indonesian National Armed Forces\nto mobilise their available vehicles to facilitate smooth traffic flow\nduring the exodus. \u201cThe Navy and Army have ships, perhaps these could be\nmade available and coordinated with the Transportation Minister,\u201d\nPrabowo said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also requested that the Indonesian National Police utilise\ntheir assets to assist travellers whilst providing security along\ntransport routes throughout the 2026 Eid period.<\/p>\n
The President instructed that services at rest areas, ports, airports\nand all stations be enhanced. \u201cEnsure there are no uncontrollable\nqueues. Fuel availability, electricity supply and internet connectivity\nshould be kept stable,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Prabowo specifically directed the Ministry of Energy and Mineral\nResources to continually report on fuel availability during the Eid\nperiod. This is particularly important, he noted, as Indonesia is\ncurrently experiencing fuel price and supply volatility due to conflict\nin the Middle East.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Prabowo instructed Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri\nWardhana to more aggressively promote domestic tourism destinations.\nDuring the Eid period, Prabowo requested that Widiyanti spend more time\nin the field. \u201cI am asking the Tourism Minister to actively visit\ntourist sites and promote all aspects of tourism throughout the\ncountry,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo expressed his desire to make this, his second Eid as\npresident, run smoothly. \u201cWe will ensure that this year\u2019s exodus runs\nwell, safely, comfortably and joyfully.
