House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani revealed that\nthe eight special guests include students and members of the public who\nare beneficiaries of various strategic government programmes. \u201cThe\nPresident has eight invited guests he wishes to attend, including\nstudents and others. These eight individuals will be present at the\nevent on 14 August. They are special invitees who are beneficiaries of\nthe President\u2019s programmes and have felt the benefits,\u201d Puan stated at\nthe Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 12 August\n2026.<\/p>\n
Puan explained that the total number of invitations prepared by the\ncommittee reached nearly 1,200 people. In addition to the President\u2019s\nspecial guests, the annual session will also be attended by VIP\nofficials, including cabinet ministers, coordinating ministers, agency\nheads, and ambassadors from friendly nations.<\/p>\n
Puan detailed that the entire state event agenda on Friday, 14 August\n2026, will be divided into two main sessions. The first session,\ncomprising the MPR Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session, is\nscheduled to run from 08:30 WIB to 11:00 WIB. Following this, the\nproceedings will be adjourned to allow for Friday prayers. The second\nsession will resume at 14:30 WIB with a DPR Plenary Meeting to hear the\nPresident\u2019s speech on the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget\n(RAPBN) for the 2027 fiscal year and its Financial Note.<\/p>\n

Puan clarified that the scheduling of this year\u2019s Annual Session on\n14 August differs from the previous custom of holding it on 16 August.\nShe emphasised that the schedule was adjusted in accordance with working\nday regulations. She noted that since 16 August 2026 falls on a Sunday,\nthe session was brought forward to the nearest working day. \u201cThis is not\na postponement, but rather it is in accordance with the rules to hold it\non a working day.
