President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his administration to\nreview the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme so that it is\nprioritised for groups most in need, including communities in the lowest\neconomic deciles and areas with high stunting prevalence.<\/p>\n
Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Agustina Arumsari\nstated that the President requested all inputs regarding the programme\u2019s\nimplementation be examined before any decisions are made. \u201cHe listened\nto all the feedback from the meeting participants; there were various\nsuggestions,\u201d Agustina said after meeting the President at the\nPresidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
She explained that the President directed that the programme should\nbe streamlined. \u201cThose who do not need to receive the MBG programme\nanymore, please, do not give it to them. But those in the lowest\ndeciles, in underdeveloped regions, and in areas with high stunting\nprevalence, please provide it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Agustina noted that this directive serves as a basis for the BGN to\nimprove the implementation of the programme, which reaches millions of\nbeneficiaries. \u201cFor us, this is an order from the President to all\nministries assisting the BGN leadership to fix this, because we know it\nis not easy as it involves millions of beneficiaries,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
