President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has\nemphasised the government\u2019s commitment to driving national economic\nreform and transformation to create a more competitive and responsive\ninvestment climate. This was stated in his keynote speech at the\nIndonesia-Japan Business Forum held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on\nMonday, 30 March 2026, as part of President Prabowo\u2019s official visit to\nJapan.<\/p>\n
In his speech, President Prabowo emphasised that in an increasingly\ninterconnected world, close and mutually beneficial economic relations\nform an important foundation for stability and peace. He believes that\nthe benefits arising from good economic relations will lead to good\noutcomes for all people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is my conviction. If there is real partnership between the\nJapanese economy, Japanese industry, and Indonesia, both our nations\nwill benefit. When both our nations benefit, this will become a pillar\nof peace and stability,\u201d said President Prabowo.<\/p>\n
In efforts to enhance economic competitiveness, the President\nconveyed that the government continues to carry out deregulation and\nsimplification of procedures, including eliminating rules deemed\nirrelevant. As a concrete step, the government has established a special\ntask force for debottlenecking, tasked with quickly and directly\naddressing investment barriers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis task force has proven effective. We have resolved many issues\nbecause we go straight to the heart of the matter,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you have problems, you can complain directly to me. You can\ncomplain directly to me. Through your ambassador, through your\nrepresentatives, through MITI or JETRO or whatever, Keidanren, I am\nwilling to receive complaints,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo also emphasised his results-oriented leadership\napproach, ensuring that every issue is handled responsively and\neffectively. According to him, a President in the modern era is a CEO of\nthe nation who must know and resolve problems very quickly.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the President highlighted the importance of speed in\ndecision-making amid constantly changing global dynamics. According to\nhim, to achieve the best results quickly, the key lies in good teamwork,\nmuch like the Indonesia-Japan partnership.<\/p>\n

To that end, President Prabowo welcomed the enhancement of the\nIndonesia-Japan economic partnership as a strategic opportunity to drive\nshared growth. According to him, this is the right moment to deepen\ncooperation between the two countries to move forward together.<\/p>\n
