After completing the initial part of his speech, he\nwas informed by an assistant that journalists were still in the room.\nThe former Defence Minister then requested that the journalists leave\nthe hall before he continued his address.<\/p>\n<p>The Gerindra Party chairman invited the journalists to have coffee\noutside. \u201cWith respect, I invite the journalists to have coffee,\u201d\nPrabowo said.<\/p>\n<p>The Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) took place\nfrom Friday to Sunday, 26-28 June 2026. The President attended both the\nopening and closing ceremonies of the event, which invited 2,600\nacademics, including professors, deans, and rectors.<\/p>\n<p>During the opening of KSTI 2026 on Friday, Prabowo delivered a\nbriefing lasting nearly five hours to the academics. The briefing was\nheld openly starting around 4 p.m. Western Indonesia Time at the Jakarta\nConvention Center. After speaking for 30 minutes, Prabowo also asked\njournalists to leave the room and continued his speech behind closed\ndoors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith respect, I invite the journalists to have coffee outside. I am\nsure Mr.\u00a0Brian (Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology\nBrian Yuliarto) has prepared excellent coffee,\u201d Prabowo said on Friday.\nHe stated that he wanted to speak frankly with the academics in\nattendance and did not want the session to be covered by the media.\n\u201cJournalists, with all due respect, the media, today I want to have a\nheart-to-heart talk with the professors,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>The forum, titled \u201cNational Dialogue,\u201d was part of the Indonesian\nScience, Technology, and Industry Convention.
