        "content": "<p>President opens GKBI 37-story office building<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): President Soeharto inaugurated yesterday a 37-<br>\nstory office building owned by the Federation of Indonesian Batik<br>\nCooperatives (GKBI).<\/p>\n<p>The building, named Wisma GKBI, was built by PT Mulia<br>\nCemerlang Persada, a subsidiary of the Mulia Group, under a 20-<br>\nyear build, operate and transfer contract.<\/p>\n<p>GKBI&apos;s President Director Noorbasha Djunaid said the<br>\nconstruction of the building, which occupies a hectare plot on<br>\nJl. Sudirman, Central Jakarta, is part of the federation&apos;s<br>\nbusiness expansion. The building has 110,000 square meters of<br>\nfloor space for lease.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;GKBI occupies a floor for its headquarters. After the 20-year<br>\ncontract ends, the whole premises will be owned by GKBI,&quot; he<br>\nannounced following the inauguration of the building.<\/p>\n<p>The federation, which previously produced mostly textile-<br>\nrelated products, is now involved in a wide range of business<br>\nactivities.<\/p>\n<p>Noorbasha said that the federation recently established PT<br>\nGKBI Investment as a holding company for its business operations.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from textile and batik businesses, its subsidiaries also<br>\ninclude PT Timitra Multi Finance, PT GKBI Motor, PT Sentra Arus<br>\nValindo, PT Olah Bumi Mandiri, PT Wahono Buana Beton and PT Rehal<br>\nTraco.<\/p>\n<p>Its textile and batik factories are now run by PT Priamtexco,<br>\nPT Medarindotex, PT Primissima, PT Dayani Garment Indonesia, PT<br>\nKoprimatex and PT Tokai Texprint.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;All the factories employ 7,249 workers with a Rp 306 billion<br>\nannual turnover.
