Yanvan Gallery has become a can't-miss destination for
\nvisitors to Ubud, Bali, with an interest in quality silver
\njewelry.<\/p>\n
Visitors to the gallery on Jl. Monkey Forest will find silver
\nrings, bracelets, necklaces, photo frames, pens, nail files,
\nletter openers and other items.<\/p>\n
The gallery stands out from the other buildings on the busy
\nstreet near Ubud Market with its red facade. The outside of the
\ngallery is done in typical Balinese style, but the interior
\nfeatures an art-deco design.<\/p>\n
Yanvan Gallery is known for the classical designs of its
\nsilver handicrafts.<\/p>\n
\"We sell jewelry and other merchandise at reasonable prices,\"
\nsaid Natalia Puspita, the gallery's owner.<\/p>\n
Prices range from Rp 35,000 (US$3.60) for a silver ring to Rp
\n2 million ($206) for a silver necklace or bracelet with precious
\nstones.<\/p>\n
The gallery was established by Natalia's Dutch husband, Jan
\nVan Schaik, 35 years ago.<\/p>\n
While living in Bali, Van Schaik discovered that rubber and
\nsilver made a beautiful combination. He then added semiprecious
\nstones such as garnets, pearls, black onyx, moonstones,
\ncarnelians, turquoise, blue sapphires and peridots to his
\ncreations.<\/p>\n
The items sold at the gallery are created by Van Schaik, who
\nis assisted by Balinese and Javanese silversmiths.<\/p>\n
