Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo attended the\nseries of events marking PKB\u2019s 28th anniversary in the Kota Tua area on\nWednesday, 22 July 2026. In his welcoming speech, Pramono described the\nGeneral Chairman of PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, as a\ngreat leader.<\/p>\n
He also reminisced about first getting to know Cak Imin in 1999, when\nthe two were often present at the same discussions.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst, I will begin with the events of 1999 to 2004. Even before\nthat, Cak Imin was still called Cak Imin back then; now he is the\nGeneral Chairman. During the 1998 student movement, the two of us were\noften together at various discussion forums,\u201d said Pramono.<\/p>\n
Not only that, Pramono also noted that PKB was one of the parties\nthat nominated PDIP General Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri for Vice\nPresident in the 1999 general election.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was that very personal closeness that later led to the events\nsurrounding Ibu Megawati becoming Vice President at that time,\u201d said\nPramono.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt that time, at Ibu Megawati\u2019s request, I and, from PKB, Mbak\nKhofifah \u2014 because the events were full of tension \u2014 long story short,\nalhamdulillah, Ibu Mega became Vice President, and it was PKB that\nnominated her, one hundred per cent PKB,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Pramono also stated that PKB\u2019s achievements have improved under Cak\nImin\u2019s leadership, because, he said, Cak Imin\u2019s leadership has been well\ntested.<\/p>\n
\u201cPKB\u2019s achievements and also Pak Muhaimin Iskandar\u2019s leadership have\nbeen thoroughly proven,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The PDIP politician also admitted that he had whispered to Cak Imin,\ntelling him that everyone who leaves their own party will never become a\ngreat figure.<\/p>\n
He asserted that not only in PKB, there are several parties who have\nleft PDIP as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarlier I whispered to him, \u2018Cak, do you remember? Everyone who\nleaves their party never becomes great.\u2019 In PDI Perjuangan there are\nsuch people, in PKB too. And it is precisely this that makes things ever\nstronger,\u201d said Pramono.<\/p>\n
Pramono did not forget to offer his congratulations to Cak Imin on\nPKB\u2019s 28th anniversary.
