Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has emphasised the importance of\noperational safety for Transjakarta. He highlighted ongoing accidents in\nthe field, one of which is due to drivers falling asleep.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome incidents in the field, collisions, drivers drowsy, then people\nutilising Transjakarta lanes resulting in such scrapes pose a particular\nchallenge for Transjakarta to rectify,\u201d said Pramono at the 12th\nanniversary event of Transjakarta at the Tosari Transjakarta Halt,\nCentral Jakarta, on Friday (27\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
He called for Transjakarta to take firm action against negligent\ndrivers and operators. The DKI Provincial Government, he said, will\nfully support such enforcement.<\/p>\n
\u201cIssuing warnings, sanctions for operators or drivers who are\nnegligent, and I have several times directly asked the Director General\nto take such firm actions,\u201d Pramono stated.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, Pramono also spotlighted Transjakarta\u2019s\nachievements, now serving around 92.5 per cent of Jakarta\u2019s area with a\ndaily passenger count reaching 1.4 million people.<\/p>\n
According to him, Transjakarta\u2019s contribution to Jakarta\u2019s\ntransportation and economy is highly significant. He noted that every\nRp1 trillion investment in this sector can generate an economic impact\nof up to Rp3.2 trillion.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe total economic impact generated reaches Rp73.8 trillion. This is\nan extraordinary contribution,\u201d said Pramono.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, Transjakarta\u2019s President Director, Welfizon\nYuza, stated that 20 Transjakarta drivers will be sent to Japan for\ntraining. This is to improve service quality and driving safety.<\/p>\n
Welfizon mentioned that this programme is prepared through the\nTransjakarta Academy by selecting the best drivers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Transjakarta Academy is currently preparing 20 of our best\nTransjakarta drivers to be placed for an exchange in Japan. So that they\nwill bring new standards to Indonesia,\u201d said Welfizon.<\/p>\n
In that programme, the costs for making driving licences and driver\ncertification are covered by Transjakarta through CSR funds.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of our focuses is to rejuvenate drivers in Mikrotrans. From the\nprocess we went through yesterday, there are 125 people who will be\nplaced,\u201d said Welfizon.<\/p>\n
