Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has affirmed
that padel courts without Building Approval Permits (PBG) will face
activity cessation, demolition, and revocation of business licences.

“We have indications that there are padel courts that do not have
permits or do not have PBG,” Pramono said at City Hall in Jakarta on
Tuesday.

For new padel court construction, he stressed that owners must first
obtain preliminary technical approval from the DKI Jakarta Youth and
Sports Agency.

Pramono said the measure was intended to serve as a guideline so that
not just anyone could build padel courts in Jakarta at will.

Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also
prohibited padel courts from being built on provincial government-owned
assets and on Green Open Spaces (RTH).

“We will not permit construction to continue. Thus, all assets
designated for Green Open Spaces shall remain developed as Green Open
Spaces,” Pramono stated firmly.

He further disclosed that there are currently 397 padel courts in
Jakarta. Authorities are now examining how many of those 397 courts are
operating without permits.

For padel courts located in residential areas that already hold valid
permits, Pramono decided that operating hours must end no later than 8pm
Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The measure was introduced as a solution
to prevent residents from being disturbed by noise from the courts.
",
