Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has urged residents of the capital to
be open and assist officials from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in carrying
out the 2026 Economic Census. The census enumeration is still ongoing
until 15 September 2026.

Pramono made the appeal after being enumerated directly by BPS
officers at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (31/8/2026). He said he had
provided answers that reflected his actual circumstances to the census
officers.

“I have answered truthfully,” said Pramono.

Pramono then invited the people of Jakarta, particularly those who
remain closed off, to help BPS officers carry out their data collection
duties.

“I also appeal to the people of Jakarta to help BPS in carrying out
their census duties, especially for those members of the public who are
still closed off,” he said.

He stressed that conducting the economic census is a constitutional
duty. According to him, the public is asked to provide information that
reflects their actual circumstances.

“This is a constitutional task regulated by the constitution, and the
public is asked to convey and provide truthful answers,” he said.

Pramono also assured that the data collected in the economic census
has no connection to taxation matters. The data collection is being
carried out to obtain a picture of the economic conditions in
Jakarta.

“This has absolutely no connection with, for example, taxation or
other matters. This is truly an Economic Census to understand the
portrait of the conditions and situation in Jakarta,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Zulkipli
said that enumeration for the 2026 Economic Census in Jakarta is still
ongoing until 15 September. BPS will revisit companies or business
actors that could not previously be located.

“So actually we have already carried out enumeration from the
existing preliminary list amounting to 111% for the DKI condition.
However, out of that 111%, there are still some that we have not been
able to locate,” said Zulkipli.

He explained that there is still a number of data points that need to
be traced, including documents located at business premises that
officers have not yet found.

“We will trace them later,” he said.

Zulkipli said BPS officers will use the time until 15 September to
revisit companies that have not yet been enumerated or that were not
found in the initial list.

“So we hope that in this current period, the time up until 15
September, we will be able to obtain them again, revisit those
companies, and locate those that were previously not found in our
preliminary list,” he added.
",
