Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is preparing a capital injection for\nPT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta). This additional capital is\nintended for Transjakarta\u2019s plan to expand its services to the Thousand\nIslands.<\/p>\n
\u201cTransjakarta\u2019s capital needs to be increased. Because with its\ncurrent duties for both Transjakarta itself and Transjabodetabek, and\nthe fact that it will receive additional duties for the maritime section\nof the Thousand Islands, the size of Transjakarta\u2019s capital must\ncertainly be enlarged,\u201d said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday\n(30\/09\/2026).<\/p>\n
Pramono stated that the exact amount of the capital increase is still\nbeing calculated. He noted that, until now, the budget for\ntransportation to the Thousand Islands has been allocated through the\nJakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub).<\/p>\n
Moving forward, the management of this transportation will be handled\nby Transjakarta. Pramono hopes that the management of transport services\nwill become more professional.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding the specific figure for the Transjakarta capital increase\nfor the new assignment to the Thousand Islands, it is currently being\ncalculated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut what is clear is that I believe that while this budget was\npreviously allocated through the Transportation Agency, it will now be\nmanaged by Transjakarta, and I am certain the management will be more\nprofessional,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Pramono explained that the facilities being prepared relate to the\ntransportation needs for the Thousand Islands. Several islands have been\nidentified as potential main terminals.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, the facilities will certainly prepare what is needed for\ntransportation to the Thousand Islands,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the Thousand Islands, we already know several islands that will\nserve as main terminals, for example: Tidung Island, Pari Island, and so\non, Pramuka Island, and so forth,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Pramono also mentioned that the fare scheme for Thousand Islands\nresidents will be calculated. He noted that residents of the Thousand\nIslands have historically been part of a community group that receives\ncertain transportation facilities from the Jakarta Provincial\nGovernment.<\/p>\n
According to him, if all transportation services to the Thousand\nIslands were made free for local residents, the entire budgetary burden\nwould be borne by the Jakarta Provincial Government.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, with this arrangement, it is hoped that for the residents\nof the Thousand Islands, who have previously used land transportation or\nwere included in 15 specific categories, there will certainly be\nadjustments,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause if there is transportation to the Thousand Islands and it is\nfree for all residents of the Thousand Islands, the entire burden will\nfall on the Jakarta Provincial Government.
