The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting the management of\ntransport from mainland Jakarta to the Seribu Islands to be transferred\nto PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) starting in 2027.<\/p>\n
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the transfer of management is\nbeing carried out to improve the efficiency and quality of transport\nservices to the island region.<\/p>\n
According to Pramono, transport to the Seribu Islands is currently\nstill managed by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency. This scheme is\nconsidered to have not yet produced optimal results.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on that, I finally decided to manage transport from, let\u2019s\nsay, mainland Jakarta to the Seribu Islands, which will be managed by\nTransjakarta,\u201d said Pramono in North Jakarta on Monday (10\/8).<\/p>\n
Pramono assessed that Transjakarta has the experience and capacity to\nmanage public transport services on a large scale. The performance of\nthe transport operator is also considered to be improving.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see this as being very inefficient because, based on the\nexperience in Jakarta itself, in the five urban areas, the performance\nof Transjakarta is now quite good, managing almost 10,000 buses, even\nmore,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Pramono said the increase in the number of Transjakarta users is one\nindicator of improved services. In addition to passenger numbers,\npunctuality and on-the-ground service are also considerations.<\/p>\n
\u201cPunctuality, then on the ground, and as we know, the increase in\npeople using Transjakarta is also very high. This month alone, last\nmonth alone, it rose to 14.99 percent, that\u2019s the increase,\u201d said\nPramono.<\/p>\n
According to him, the increase shows that public trust in\nTransjakarta services is getting higher.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis shows that the people of Jakarta now place their trust in\nTransjakarta,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Although it is targeted to run in 2027, the mechanism for managing\ntransport to the Seribu Islands is still in the maturation stage.<\/p>\n
The DKI Provincial Government must adjust a number of regulations,\nincluding Regional Regulations (Perda) and Governor Regulations\n(Pergub). The fare scheme will also be determined in the process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mechanism is still being finalised because we have to amend the\nPerda, Pergub, and later determine the fare.
