Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has instructed his\nadministration to coordinate the immediate construction of a proper\ncommand headquarters (Mako) for the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol\nXPP).<\/p>\n
\u201cI was just whispering with the Vice Governor and the Regional\nSecretary that it is unacceptable not to have a Mako. To be honest, I\nonly just realised that there is no command headquarters for the Satpol\nPP that is truly respected in the Republic of Indonesia,\u201d Pramono stated\nduring his speech at the 76th Anniversary of the Satpol PP at Taman\nIsmail Marzuki, Jakarta, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He requested the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Satpol PP, Satriadi\nGunawan, to immediately coordinate this initiative.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, Mr Satriadi, please coordinate the Mako for Satpol PP\nimmediately. The Vice Governor, the Regional Secretary, and I have\ndiscussed whether to use the current site in Cempaka Putih or a new\nlocation. There are two or three alternatives, which will be decided\nsoon,\u201d Pramono said.<\/p>\n
Pramono mentioned that the construction of the Satpol PP headquarters\nwill be discussed starting next week, with a target commencement date in\nearly 2027. He expressed his strong desire for the headquarters to be\nbuilt to a high and dignified standard, noting that as a frontline unit\nin maintaining Jakarta, the Satpol PP deserves its own facility.<\/p>\n
He further noted that he has observed the Satpol PP adopting a more\nhumanistic approach to their duties, contributing to a safer and more\npeaceful capital. \u201cCurrently, I see them being much more humanistic. As\npart of a global city, if the face of the Satpol PP is too intimidating,\nit creates discomfort. Therefore, we agree it is time for the Satpol PP\nto have a proper Mako. The planning must be completed by the end of this\nyear at the latest,\u201d Pramono explained.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Head of the Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan,\nexpressed his hope that the unit would have its own representative\noffice to support performance and improve the working comfort of field\npersonnel.<\/p>\n
\u201cJakarta does not yet have its own Satpol PP office. We are currently\nsharing space on the 16th floor of Blok H, City Hall. Sometimes, when\nthere are visits from various regions, we still have to receive them at\nCity Hall because we lack our own office,\u201d Satriadi revealed.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that having a dedicated office is vital, especially as\nJakarta is a global city ranked as the second safest city in Southeast\nAsia, following Singapore. He hopes that a permanent office will allow\nfor better monitoring of the unit\u2019s 5,000 personnel.<\/p>\n
