        "content": "<p>Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has ordered the demolition of padel\ncourts that do not hold government-issued Building Approval Permits\n(PBG).<\/p>\n<p>In total, there are 397 padel courts in Jakarta. The governor\nsuspects that a number of these lack the required PBG.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuildings or padel courts without a Building Approval Permit will\nface cessation of activities, demolition, and revocation of business\nlicences, as we have indications that there are \u2014 the exact figures will\nbe confirmed by Citata (the Agency for Building Works, Spatial Planning,\nand Land Affairs) \u2014 padel courts that do not have permits or do not hold\na PBG,\u201d Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (24 February).<\/p>\n<p>Pramono also officially banned the construction of new padel courts\nin residential zones, stating that new padel court developments must be\nlocated in commercial zones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been decided that new permits for the construction of padel\ncourts will not be allowed in residential zones. All new developments\nmust be in commercial zones,\u201d Pramono said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, padel courts that already hold a PBG but are situated in\nresidential areas will have their operations restricted to a maximum of\n8pm Western Indonesian Time (WIB).<\/p>\n<p>He called on mayors and sub-district heads to negotiate with local\nresidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNegotiate with residents and set a maximum time limit \u2014 padel court\noperators must not operate beyond 8pm. Therefore, all padel courts in\nresidential areas, even those that have already obtained a PBG, must\nclose by 8pm at the latest,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
