The Car-Free Day (CFD) on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, will
only begin on June 1st. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed the
reason for choosing this date.

He explained that the scheduling of the CFD on Rasuna Said starting
from that date is based on the target completion of supporting
facilities.

On June 1st, Pramono hopes that the pedestrian areas, sidewalks, and
trees in the area will be completed and ready for use.

“Why then June 1st? Because hopefully by June 1st, all the facilities
will be finished, including the pedestrian areas, tree planting, and so
on,” said Pramono to reporters in the PIK area, North Jakarta, Sunday
(May 17th), as reported by Detik.

Pramono informed that the Rasuna Said CFD will be held from 5:30 AM
to 9:00 AM. This schedule differs from the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD which
runs until 10:00 AM.

“In Rasuna Said, it starts from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM because there will
be several places for worship that start at 10:00 AM,” said Pramono.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government temporarily
suspended the implementation of the CFD on Jalan Rasuna Said this Sunday
morning. This decision was made after an evaluation of the initial
implementation last week, which showed a number of obstacles. These
include the lack of turning points on the east and west sides, the
incomplete installation of TransJakarta lane dividers, and illegal
parking in several areas.

Other obstacles included differences in road height levels after the
dismantling of the monorail pillars and the concentration of community
activities in the Plaza Festival area.

The Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department, Syafrin
Liputo, stated that all these obstacles will be addressed together with
a cross-agency team.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also preparing legal
regulations for the implementation of the Car-Free Day (HBKB) in the
area to ensure it runs more safely and orderly.

“The improvement of supporting facilities and the regulation of
community activities will be carried out so that the implementation of
the HBKB in Rasuna Said can run more safely, comfortably, and orderly,”
said Syafrin in a statement on Saturday (May 16th).
",
