Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung claims to have been scolded by\nARMY, fans of the South Korean music group BTS, over his desire to use\nJakarta International Stadium (JIS) as the concert location. Pramono is\nnow willing to concede if the music group\u2019s concert is held at Gelora\nBung Karno (GBK).<\/p>\n
He stated this while attending a Halal Bi Halal event with the ITB\nStudent Parents Association in South Jakarta on Sunday (19\/4\/2026).\nInitially, Pramono mentioned that there would be several major concerts\nin Jakarta this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year there will be several big concerts, including Guns N\u2019\nRoses, then Metallica, The Weeknd, but this one I dare not mention,\u201d\nPramono said in his presentation.<\/p>\n
Pramono also shared his desire for BTS to perform at JIS. However,\nPramono said he was once \u2018attacked\u2019 by ARMY because of that desire.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause yesterday I said I wanted BTS to play at JIS, wow, all the\nARMY got angry with me. And my child happens to be an ARMY too, \u2018Just\nlet it play at GBK, Dad.\u2019 This time I\u2019m conceding, if it\u2019s at GBK that\u2019s\nfine too,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Pramono stated that he would no longer comment on the\nlocation of BTS\u2019s concert in Jakarta. He is leaving the concert location\nentirely up to them.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy child is also an ARMY, until I was woken up by a knock on the\ndoor, \u2018Dad, why are you meddling with ARMY? Just let the ARMY enjoy it.\u2019\nI said \u2018okay, from today onwards your father won\u2019t make any more\nstatements.\u2019 So I\u2019m leaving it to God,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Previously, when opening the Musyawarah Perencanaan Pembangunan\n(Musrenbang) for the 2027 Regional Government Work Plan at Jakarta City\nHall on Thursday (16\/4), Pramono mentioned he was fighting for JIS as\nthe location for BTS\u2019s concert. There are two possibilities: the BTS\nconcert being held at JIS or Gelora Bung Karno (GBK).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe one I haven\u2019t succeeded with yet is that I really want BTS to\nplay there (JIS). This is still a fight for whether it\u2019s at JIS or GBK,\u201d\nPramono said.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, even though both are in Jakarta, but I really want GBK or JIS\nto get a challenge on how BTS playing there would be,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
According to him, hosting international artist concerts is part of\nefforts to make Jakarta a global city. He believes that\ninternational-scale activities can boost Jakarta\u2019s attractiveness, not\nonly as a business city but also as a tourism destination.<\/p>\n
Pramono noted that the current trend in visits to Jakarta shows an\nincrease in tourists\u2019 length of stay. Previously averaging only about\n1-1.5 days, it has now increased to nearly 3 days.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy is that happening? Because they feel that Jakarta is not just a\nbusiness city but also a tourism city.
