Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has prepared a budget of Rp 300\nbillion for 2026 to fund land acquisition for the normalisation of the\nCiliwung River. The budget also covers land acquisition for the Krukut\nRiver and the Cakung Lama River.<\/p>\n
Pramono conveyed this during an inspection of the land acquisition\nprogress for the Ciliwung River normalisation in the Cawang area, East\nJakarta. According to him, land acquisition is one of the keys to\naccelerating river normalisation to reduce the risk of flooding in\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
\"The budget for this year is Rp 300 billion,\" Pramono told reporters\non Friday (10\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
Pramono stated that at the inspected location, there is a target to\nacquire 170 buildings. Of that number, 62 buildings have been acquired\nand demolished, with the remainder targeted for completion by the end of\n2026.<\/p>\n
\"The buildings that have been acquired will certainly be cleared,\nincluding those 170 buildings,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He is confident that land acquisition in the Cawang, Rawajati,\nPengadegan, and Cililitan areas can proceed according to target.\nMoreover, the location determination for several areas has been\nsigned.<\/p>\n
\"Today I am checking the progress of land acquisition for the\nCiliwung River normalisation. This is the second time I have been to\nthis place, and the progress, alhamdulillah, is quite good,\" he\nremarked.<\/p>\n
Pramono hopes that by the commemoration of Jakarta\u2019s 500th\nanniversary in 2027, the normalisation of the Ciliwung River stretch\nfrom the MT Haryono area to the Kalibata Bridge can be connected.<\/p>\n
\"If that can be done, then in 2027, when Jakarta celebrates its 500th\nanniversary, the normalisation of one of the main axes, namely the\nCiliwung in Cawang, Rawajati, Pengadegan, and Cililitan, will hopefully\nbe completed,\" he said.<\/p>\n
According to Pramono, accelerating the Ciliwung River normalisation\nis part of the medium- to long-term flood management effort. The\nprogramme, he added, will also be continued at the Krukut River and the\nCakung Lama River.<\/p>\n
\"Hopefully, this will increase the water capacity in this area, so\nthat when flooding occurs, the impact will not be like it was in the\npast.
