JAKARTA \u2013 The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is continuing land\nacquisition for the Ciliwung River normalisation project. To date, 62 of\n170 land plots in Cawang Subdistrict, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, have\nbeen acquired.<\/p>\n
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said progress on the\nCiliwung River normalisation is proceeding relatively well, particularly\nas the programme, which aims to address Jakarta\u2019s flooding problems, had\nstalled in recent years.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is hard to imagine that this area, which used to go viral so\noften, is now developing very well. People would never have guessed that\nland in this area could be acquired and the normalisation process\ncarried out,\u201d Pramono said during an inspection of land acquisition\nprogress in Cawang on Friday (10\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
He noted that of the 170 land plots included in the location\ndesignation, 62 have already been acquired, leaving 108 plots still to\nbe secured. The target is for all land acquisition in Cawang to be\ncompleted by the end of this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, of the target of 170 plots, 62 have been completed.\nHowever, by the end of this year we aim to finish the entire acquisition\nprocess,\u201d Pramono said.<\/p>\n
Once land acquisition is complete, the DKI Jakarta Provincial\nGovernment will immediately proceed with the normalisation of the\nCiliwung River. According to Pramono, this will be one of the solutions\nto tackle the flooding that regularly afflicts Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis programme is a continuation of the normalisation work that was\nhalted for quite a long time.
