Prabowo disclosed that he\nonce experienced the vehicle leaking and having a very harsh, rattling\nride whilst climbing a mountain. \u201cA few days ago, I overheard a\nconversation among my staff. \u2018Hey, how much does this car cost? How much\ndoes that car cost?\u2019 I thought, well, I cannot afford to ask about that\nanymore. Like it or not, because I am president, I must set an example\nand use a car made by Indonesia\u2019s own children,\u201d Prabowo stated whilst\nopening the HIPMI XVIII National Conference in Lampung, on Wednesday\n(10\/6\/2026). \u201cSo, I understand this car was built in one to two years;\nsomething new might not be as good as a BMW or a Mercedes, right? If Mr\nAra (Maruarar Sirait) uses a Mercedes, I can no longer do that; I use\nthe Maung,\u201d he added. Prabowo eventually recounted his experience with\nthe Maung. He confessed that the vehicle he was riding in leaked when it\nrained. As a result, the vehicle was sent back to Pindad for repairs.\n\u201cWell, one time, I like to sleep in the car. It was raining heavily\noutside, and I was sleeping when suddenly, \u2018drip, drip, drip\u2019 (water\nleaking), I woke up. It turned out it was leaking. Since it was new, I\nsent it back, you know, saying, \u2018This is made by Pindad, hey Pindad,\nplease reduce the leaks,\u2019\u201d he mentioned. Not only did it leak, Prabowo\nalso felt a rather harsh rattling in the Maung when driving on rocky\nroads in the mountains. Although it still has many shortcomings, Prabowo\ncontinues to use the vehicle. \u201cAfter that, using the car to go up the\nmountain, it rattled and clanked.
