        "content": "<p>Prabowo\u2019s Japan Visit Secures US$23.1bn in Investment Pledges<\/p>\n<p>Reporter<\/p>\n<p>April 1, 2026 | 10:23 pm<\/p>\n<p>TEMPO.CO, Jakarta \u2013 Indonesia has secured investment commitments\nworth US$23.1 billion, or about Rp390.4 trillion, from Japan following\nPresident Prabowo Subianto\u2019s visit to the country from March 29 to 31,\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Investment and Industry Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani said the\ncommitments were signed during the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum in\nTokyo on Monday, March 30.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite ongoing global geopolitical tensions, international\nconfidence\u2014especially from Japan\u2014remains strong, and they are committed\nto investing in Indonesia in the future,\u201d Rosan said in a written\nstatement on Tuesday, March 31.<\/p>\n<p>The largest portion of the commitment, US$20.9 billion, is earmarked\nfor the development of the Abadi Gas Field in the Masela Block, through\ncooperation between state energy company PT Pertamina (Persero) and\nJapanese oil and gas firm INPEX.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, SMBC Aviation Capital committed US$800 million to\nIndonesia\u2019s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara.<\/p>\n<p>State-owned pawnshop company PT Pegadaian (Persero) also secured a\nUS$300 million funding commitment from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking\nCorporation, aimed at supporting financial inclusion and the development\nof Indonesia\u2019s gold ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Another US$500 million will come from 2Way World and Indonesian\npartners for cooperation in the beauty and aesthetics sector.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining commitments will be directed toward geothermal projects\nacross Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJapan has shown particularly strong interest in renewable energy,\u201d\nRosan said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Japan remains one of the top five sources of foreign\ndirect investment (FDI) in Indonesia.
