President Prabowo Subianto was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra\nModi of India upon his arrival at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on\nSaturday, to attend the 18th BRICS Summit.<\/p>\n
As observed from the Presidential Secretariat\u2019s YouTube broadcast,\nPresident Prabowo arrived at approximately 14:30 local time, wearing a\nblack suit, a blue tie, and a black songkok (kopiah).<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, Prabowo was immediately greeted by Modi, who was\nwaiting in the reception area. Prabowo greeted Modi with a traditional\nhand clasp, which was reciprocated by Modi with a smile.<\/p>\n
The 18th BRICS Summit is taking place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi,\nfrom 12-13 September 2026, under the chairmanship of India. The summit\ncarries the theme \u201cBuilding for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and\nSustainability\u201d.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo\u2019s presence at the 18th BRICS Summit as a full\nmember is part of Indonesia\u2019s efforts to strengthen its active role in\nmultilateral cooperation. This participation also reflects Indonesia\u2019s\ncommitment to promoting a more balanced and inclusive global economic\norder that provides greater space for developing nations.<\/p>\n
