President Prabowo Subianto has stated that the world is currently in\na dangerous condition. He made this statement following the outbreak of\nwar in the Middle East after the United States and Israel attacked\nIran.<\/p>\n
According to Prabowo, major powers engaged in conflict could drag\nother nations into the dispute. \u201cWe are in a dangerous world. Major\npowers are in conflict and could drag other nations into difficult\nsituations,\u201d Prabowo said whilst inaugurating 218 bridges via video link\non Monday, 9 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that Indonesia could face difficulties as a result of\nthe war. Although Indonesia is located far from the conflict zone,\nPrabowo noted that the war in the region would affect Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Therefore, Prabowo said the Indonesian nation must be prepared to\nface difficulties. \u201cAs a result of the war in the Middle East, we must\nbe prepared to face hardship,\u201d said the General Chair of the Gerindra\nParty.<\/p>\n
However, he believes Indonesia has the capacity to overcome it. \u201cI\nsimply want to convey that our strength, our extraordinary wealth, we\nmust manage better, we must control better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also explained Indonesia\u2019s stance in facing the conflict in\nthe Middle East. According to Prabowo, Indonesia is already on the\ncorrect path because it does not side with any of the warring\nparties.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that war is currently occurring in almost all regions\nof the world. \u201cParticularly in the Middle East region. Some time ago we\nrealised there was a major war in Europe, in Ukraine. Now almost the\nentire Middle East is affected,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
According to Prabowo, the escalation of war between the United\nStates, Israel and Iran has affected almost the entire Middle East\nregion. Although Indonesia is geographically far from the region,\nPrabowo said, its impact is still felt. \u201cOur earth has actually become\nsmall, what happens in one region will affect other regions,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Indonesia, he stated, has correctly taken a stance by not siding with\nanyone. \u201cOur nation, our country is on the correct path, we are on a\nnon-aligned path. We are always on the path of active independence and\nnon-alignment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo said Indonesia respects all nations. \u201cWe do not want to join\nany bloc, we respect all powers, we respect all nations. That is\nIndonesia. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika within our country, but we also respect\nall nations beyond our borders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The situation in the Middle East previously escalated following air\nstrikes by the United States and Israeli military on Iran on 28 February\n2026. The air strikes on Tehran, Iran\u2019s capital, killed several leaders\nof the Islamic Republic, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali\nKhamenei.<\/p>\n
Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israeli territory and\nneighbouring countries hosting United States military bases.
