President Prabowo Subianto has warned of a potential rift in national\nunity amid a global situation that is increasingly uncertain. The\nmessage was delivered during a meeting with a number of national figures\nat the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, later relayed to the media by MPR\nChairman Ahmad Muzani on Wednesday (4 March).<\/p>\n
According to Muzani, Prabowo views current global dynamics as\naffecting not only the economy and politics but also potentially shaping\ndomestic public attitudes.<\/p>\n
\u201cA special message from the President that we must all, as\nIndonesians, safeguard national unity, cohesion, and togetherness,\nbecause the present global situation makes people think in terms of\ntheir own viewpoints, which could damage our harmony, camaraderie, and\nsolidarity as a nation and homeland,\u201d Muzani said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo emphasised that every policy is aimed at national interests\nand maintaining the integrity of the country.<\/p>\n
One step cited by Muzani as part of maintaining solidarity was the\nPresident\u2019s meeting with cross-generational national leaders on Tuesday\nnight (3 March). The forum, he said, provided a space for exchanging\nviews amid complex global challenges.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President received those views with pleasure, and they were used\nas input that informs decision-making,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Muzani noted that Prabowo keeps an open space for dialogue with\nvarious elements of the nation. This openness is important so strategic\npolicies are not formed behind closed doors, but through broader\nconsideration.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn principle, the President is very open to the views and thoughts\nof all community and national leaders,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupratman further explained that President Prabowo has always said\npolitical parties should resolve their own problems if they have\nissues.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMinister Nasaruddin Umar expressed the danger of exclusive\nnationalism which could lead to division. Conversely inclusive\nnationalism should be the foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Prabowo cited internal conflicts in Sudan, Libya, and\nYemen.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMandarin is considered a strategic competence at global level as\ninternational interaction increases and there is a need for multilingual\nlabour force.\u201d<\/p>\n
