President Prabowo Subianto said all forms of corruption must be\neliminated, describing the fight against graft as both a moral\nobligation and a key requirement for national progress.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the state commemoration of Nuzulul Quran for the Islamic\nyear 1447 Hijri\/2026 at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday night,\nPrabowo warned that corruption and abuse of power threaten Indonesia\u2019s\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n
The president said his administration remained committed to\neradicating practices that harm the public and ensuring the country\u2019s\nwealth is managed for the benefit of all Indonesians.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must eliminate corruption, abuse, and all wrongful practices\nprohibited by every religion. History shows no country succeeds when its\ngovernment fails to cleanse itself of corruption,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
He said the message was not only rooted in religious teachings but\nalso reflected historical lessons that honest governance is essential\nfor economic progress and long-term stability.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also highlighted the importance of safeguarding Indonesia\u2019s\nvast natural wealth so it can be used effectively to improve living\nstandards and strengthen national prosperity.<\/p>\n
Indonesia, he said, has been blessed with abundant resources, which\nshould enable the country to tackle persistent problems such as poverty,\nhunger, and social suffering.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must fight hard to eliminate poverty, hunger, and suffering among\nour people,\u201d Prabowo said, adding the government must not allow any\ncitizen to live in neglect or hardship.<\/p>\n
The president stressed that the state has both the capacity and\nresponsibility to ensure national wealth benefits the population rather\nthan being concentrated in the hands of a few.<\/p>\n
Prabowo warned the government would not tolerate individuals or\ngroups who exploit public resources for personal enrichment or transfer\nnational wealth abroad.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must not lose to those who seek to take the people\u2019s wealth and\nweaken our nation,\u201d he said, adding that the government would act firmly\nagainst those undermining Indonesia\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also expressed gratitude for continued guidance and support\nfrom religious leaders and society, saying their encouragement\nstrengthened his resolve to pursue reforms.<\/p>\n
At the same event, the president called on all segments of society,\nincluding Islamic scholars and community leaders, to unite in efforts to\nbuild a prosperous Indonesia.<\/p>\n
