        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has extended\ngreetings to all Buddhists celebrating Vesak Day 2570 Buddhist Era (BE).\n\u201cOn this Vesak Day, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of\nIndonesia, personally and on behalf of the government, extend my warm\nwishes to all Indonesian Buddhists and Buddhists worldwide,\u201d Prabowo\nsaid in a statement from the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday evening,\n31 May 2026. Prabowo emphasised that the spirit of this year\u2019s Vesak\ncould inspire all segments of the nation in fostering national unity and\nstatehood. He also stressed that Indonesia is a great nation due to its\ndiversity. However, he underscored that despite diversity, all\nIndonesians are united by the shared goal of building a better homeland.\n\u201cIndonesia is a great nation because of its diversity. We have different\nethnicities, religions, cultures, traditions, and customs, yet we are\nunited by a common vision: to build a peaceful, just, prosperous, and\nharmonious Indonesia,\u201d Prabowo stated. Prabowo also reminded the\nimportance of maintaining unity and optimism amid global dynamics. \u201cAmid\nthe world\u2019s growing challenges and uncertainties, Indonesia must remain\nsteadfast in unity and optimism. We must continue to work hard, support\none another, and collaborate to achieve prosperity for all Indonesians,\u201d\nhe said. In line with this, Prabowo noted that the values inherent in\nVesak Day celebrations offer valuable lessons.
