President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that the system within the\nIndonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) must be based on achievement,\nrather than merely on seniority.<\/p>\n
Prabowo made these remarks while delivering a mandate during the 81st\nAnniversary ceremony of the TNI on 5 October 202<0xC2>6 at the TNI\nHeadquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Monday (5\/10).<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that the TNI must become a professional, responsive,\nmodern, innovative, and adaptive force. He noted that the TNI must now\nmaster technology; therefore, he argued, the military must prioritise\nachievement.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce again, I emphasise that a great TNI is one that prioritises\nachievement. The system in place within the TNI must be a system of\nmerit, not just a system of seniority, let alone narrow systems, narrow\nloyalty, or loyalty based solely on rank,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
Prabowo added that TNI personnel must be able to cooperate and\nsynergise with ministries, central government agencies, regional\ngovernments, governors, regents, sub-district heads, village heads, and\neven tribal leaders.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe strength and capability of the TNI must be able to accelerate\nthe implementation of government programmes and overcome the various\nreal difficulties faced by the people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo noted that Indonesia is a large nation and state. He\ncontinued, stating that Indonesia possesses a vast territory, thousands\nof islands, extensive maritime areas, long borders, and various\nstrategic objects that must be protected.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will also continue to build our strength. We must remember that\nthe size of the Indonesian nation is comparable to Europe. Europe\nconsists of more than 30 countries, each with 30 armies, 30 air forces,\nand 30 navies. We have one TNI. Your task is heavy, but I am confident\nyou are capable,\u201d Prabowo remarked.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Prabowo stated that the government will continue to\nprioritise the welfare of soldiers, the education of their children,\nhealthcare services, and the lives of soldiers\u2019 families.<\/p>\n
