Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that\nIndonesia\u2019s support for the struggle for Palestinian independence is a\nnon-negotiable principle of its foreign policy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are on good terms with all powers, but what we cannot bargain\naway is supporting the struggle for Palestinian independence,\u201d said\nPrabowo in a speech at the 28th anniversary celebration of the National\nAwakening Party (PKB) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta,\non Thursday evening.<\/p>\n
The President said Indonesia will continue to pursue a free and\nactive foreign policy by respecting all countries and world powers. As a\nnon-aligned nation, Indonesia does not wish to have enemies or to\ndisturb other countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful that we are non-aligned, we have no enemies, we\nrespect all countries, we respect all powers. We want to be free and\nactive,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndonesia\u2019s foreign policy under the government I lead is one of\nbeing a good neighbour. We want to be good neighbors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Despite his commitment to maintaining good relations with all\ncountries, the President affirmed that Indonesia\u2019s stance in supporting\nthe Palestinian people\u2019s struggle for independence will not change.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stressed that Indonesia\u2019s main defence strength lies in its\ntotal people\u2019s defence system and its people\u2019s love for their nation and\nstate.<\/p>\n
